Eight Courts
The eight well-maintained tennis courts rank among the best
in Myrtle Beach. They have been the site of the NCAA Big South Athletic Conference
regional playoffs, United States Tennis Assocation Women’s trials and
annual regional doubles tournaments. In addition, local tournaments are scheduled
at various times throughout the year.
Of the eight courts, three are of the Har - Tru surface and
two are lighted for night play. There is also one court devoted to practice,
which includes a rebound board. Mr Del Merchant is the coordinator of the
tennis center.He is a United States Professional Tennis Registry professional
at the instructional level with 25 years experience. In addition, he was
selected as the Grand Strand Tennis Association Professional of the Year
for 2001, is a South Carolina Association verifier, a USTA Clinician, and
Director of the Ocean Creek Tennis School.
Tennis Villas
These units feature one, two and three bedroom vacation villas
that adjoin the tennis center and pool. The Tennis Villas are situated in
a low density, wooded area near the front of the resort. These villas feature
a private entry, screened porch, comfortable living areas, full kitchens
and a washer and dryer.
