About Granlibakken
Granlibakken is a Norwegian name meaning a hill sheltered
by trees. Granlibakken Resort is family-owned, occupying 74 wooded acres
in a picturesque mountain valley. Spectacular Lake Tahoe is just minutes
away. Friendly but shy bears and other wildlife can be spotted on occasion.
Townhome and suite accommodations afford plenty of privacy
in a tranquil and relaxing hideaway. For business, our complete conference
center welcomes groups of 10 to 350. For pleasure, a full menu of Tahoe's
outdoor recreation and indoor entertainment is available either at the resort
or minutes away. The hospitality is European and the lifestyle is Lake Tahoe.
Tennis Camp
The perfect training ground for tennis players who want to
combine skill development with the variety of a mountain vacation, Granlibakken
offers tennis camps for juniors and adults. Granlibakken features excellent
tennis courts, a swimming pool and spa, running and hiking trails, comfortable
rooms and first-rate dining facilities.
Junior Camps
Celebrating its 24th year, these camps are co-directed by
Tony Greco and Scott Murphy, two highly regarded USPTA professionals. The
camp averages 60 campers each session. Off-court fun includes river rafting
on the Truckee River, beach day, ropes course, miniature golf, casino night,
and a camp dance.
The camp offers three High School Training Weeks, June 19-24,
June 26-July 1, and August 7-12 for ages 13-18. These weeks are designed
for those who aspire to be or are already on high school teams, or tournament
players seeking better tournament results. Advanced drilling, workouts and
match play are combined in a program that features the same off-court activities.
Adult Camps
What better way to improve your tennis game as you enjoy
the warm sunshine than being surrounded by the towering pine trees of the
Sierra. Scott Murphy, a long-standing USPTA professional and a top-ranked
singles and doubles player in Northern California, directs these special
adult clinics.
