Welcome to The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii
Aloha! We are delighted to welcome you
to your Aloha 'home away from home,' here at The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii.
During your stay, we hope you will take time to enjoy the
wonders of Hawaii's Big Island. From snow-capped mountains to flowing
volcanoes, to tropical rainforests and an amazing undersea world, the Big
Island has much to offer the spirited traveler. We encourage you to
discover the natural beauty and splendor of the island
We also invite you to luxuriate in our 32-acre resort, which
has become even more luxurious under the Fairmont flag. We have recently
unveiled our Fairmont Gold Floor, an exclusive floor for guests who prefer
more personalized service and intimate surroundings, featuring a private
Gold Lounge. We have also created an authentic Hawaiian look and feel to
our magical outdoor 'Spa Without Walls,' including new waterfall massage
hale (houses) and breathtaking oceanfront massage cabanas.
On property, make sure you look for the resident Hawaiian
green sea turtles that haul out on our shoreline every afternoon. Or discover
island-style fun and culture: paddle an outrigger canoe, sail aboard a Hawaiian
double-hulled sailing canoe, participate in a cultural hike, learn to weave
a coconut leaf basket and more from our Beachboys. Enjoy snorkeling
in the clear waters of Pauoa Bay, or a refreshing dip in our 10,000-square-foot
oceanfront swimming pool, then stargaze from one of our lava whirlpools.
On property, choose to play 36 holes of championship golf
at the Francis H. I`i Brown golf course - home of the Senior Skins Game for
a decade. Or opt for a game of tennis at our 10-court K-Swiss Resort
Academy.

Courting for Life
Discover a holistic view of this highly competitive sport.
Using exciting and innovative approaches, Courting for Life focuses on the
development of the mind, body and spirit of tennis rather than the game's
technical proficiencies. It addresses balance, breath, movement and relaxation
in the game, and uses tennis as a mirror to identify your beliefs and habits
on and off the court. This fun, fulfilling and truly rejuvenating experience
is a rare opportunity to see tennis in a whole new light. Adults of all ages
and abilities are welcome.
Courting for Life is an innovative program created by director
of tennis Richard Stumpf exclusively for The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii. Players
are encouraged to see the game through new eyes to focus on the mind-body-spirit
of tennis rather than the game's technical proficiencies and combative tendencies.
Tennis - Analysis
The tennis professionals at The Fairmont Orchid's Tennis
Pavilion are committed to help improve your game. Appointments are required
for analysis sessions, and can be booked by calling 1 (808) 887-7532. Sessions
are available in one and 1.5 hour increments.
Movement Analysis
Are you moving with efficiency, balance and control? Over
time or through injury, muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues
can move bones out of alignment. When this happens, your body tends to get
out of balance, posture suffers, and range of motion may become limited.
Movement analysis can help you learn how to increase your awareness, postural
integrity, and heal their movement patterns to enhance performance on and
off the court. By appointment only.
Video Tape Analysis
A picture is worth a thousand words! Whether you want a documentation
of your strokes or a video lesson, there is nothing like seeing yourself
in action. Video analysis is one of the most potent tools you can employ
to make a difference in your game. Let one of our PTR professionals put together
a customized video tape for you. By appointment only.
Match Analysis
Have you ever wondered how you can specifically locate the
areas in the match play you need to work on most? Do like the pros and analyze
your match play skills through statistical analysis. With the aid of electronic
charting of your video-taped match, you will learn your strengths and weaknesses,
which will enable you to make a more informed and productive strategic approach
to your next match. By appointment only.
