Clubhotel Lakitira
Kardamena, Greece
Located on the Greek island of Kos, this largest of the Clubhotels
perches on the southern edge of the island, on the Aegean Sea, 3 kilometers
from the tourist town of Kardamena. It consists of a hotel—whose rooms
were recently redecorated—and a separate village of brand-new rooms
and family suites, in which you'll also find a Greek taverna and a Toddlers'
Club.
Dedicated children's facilities (divided by age groups from
4 months to teens) and even a children's section of beach make clear that
this Clubhotel was designed with families in mind. Nevertheless, there is
ample other recreation to lure couples and singles, including 11 tennis courts,
extensive watersports—among them scuba diving, snorkeling, waterskiing,
windsurfing, and sailing—an adults-only swimming pool, aerobics and
exercise programs, and a small gym. Daytrips leave for Bodrum on the Asian
coast of Turkey, to see the Mausoleum, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
This Clubhotel also takes tennis seriously, with private
instruction and clinics by a Lawn Tennis Association-approved tennis management
company, Service Line. There are also several special weeks for beginners',
advanced players, and those over 50.
