Caribbean Village Club on the Green

The Caribbean Village Club on the Green is one of several
all-inclusive resorts along Playa Dorada, which translates as "golden
beach," near the city of Puerto Plata on the Dominican Republic's north
coast. Its 336 rooms in two-story villas wrap around a six-court tennis complex
and a Robert Trent Jones golf course. Guests must walk or hop a free shuttle
to the resort's private beach club when they want to go to dig their toes
in the sand.
Overview
Puerto Plata, the largest city on the Dominican Republic's
north coast, curves around the base of Mt. Isabel de Torres. An abundance
of Victorian architecture—think gingerbread and pastel colors—gives
it picturesque charm. Its attractions also include San Felipe Fort, built
by the Spaniards in the 16th century as protection against invaders, a winsome
Amber Museum, a classic malécon, or waterfront promenade, and several
lively bars, including some frequented by the large ex-patriot population.
A cable car—or, alternatively, a hiking trail—provides access to
the top of Mt. Isabel de Torres, whose summit is crowned by a botanical garden
containing an illuminated statue of Christ.
The resort complex of Playa Dorada is two miles east of town
and contains the north coast's largest concentration of resorts, more than
15 altogether. All are low rise structures—building codes limit heights
to a maximum of three stories—constructed along the beach or golf course.
The resort has a shopping plaza in the middle of the complex with restaurants,
pubs, and shops, and you can explore up and down the beach.

The resort has 192 rooms and 144 junior suites. Rates include
lodging, all meals and snacks, wine with dinner, unlimited local alcoholic
beverages, use of the tennis courts, daily activities, non-motorized watersports,
the Kids' Club, taxes, and gratuities. Golf is extra.
