Black Butte Ranch
Black Butte Ranch, Oregon This 1,840-acre ranch in the Oregon
Cascades encompasses meadows, ponds, and forests, and a variety of accommodations,
from lodge rooms to large private homes. With 19 hard courts scattered across
five locations, guests are never very far from courts. The recreation center
maintains a list of players looking for games but the better bets are the
weekly men's, ladies', and mixed doubles round robins scheduled throughout
the summer. Neither are they far from fishing, bike trails, tow 18-hole golf
courses, or any of four swimming pools.
A variety of guest lodging options are available through
the BBR Rental Program at the main Lodge. Accommodations vary from hotel-type
bedrooms to one, two, and three-bedroom condominium suites and premier vacation
homes. We even have luxury signature homes for that extra special experience.Each
home or condo is a privately owned vacation home rental, and is individually
furnished with the owner's personalized decor.

The BBR Tennis Program offers weekend workshops, group and
private lessons from June 18 - September 5, 2005. Call 595-1285 for reservations
and information. Tennis rackets may be rented from both Sports Shops for
$2.00/hour or $6.00/day. Tennis rackets are due back the following day at
noon. An hourly fee is charged for late returns–the daily rate is a
“shop day,” not 24 hours. Tennis balls are sold separately at both
the Glaze Meadow and Lodge Sports Shops.

Court Reservations
BBR has 23 tennis courts clustered throughout the Ranch.
Court reservations are required Memorial Day through Labor Day. Reservations
may be made at the Rec Center for 1 day prior to play, or the day of play
from 7:00AM-8:00PM. Time is limited to 2 hrs/homesite/day; 1 hour may be
on lighted courts. Homesite and phone numbers are needed to reserve a court.

Cancellations & Late Arrivals
If unable to keep your reservation, call 595-1285 at least
1 hour prior to court time. Court times will be held for 10 minutes past
the scheduled time, and then released for open play.

Tennis Players List
From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the Rec Center keeps a list
of people interested in playing tennis. Call 595-1285 and leave your name,
ability level and phone number.
Adult Drop-in Tennis
Drop in at Glaze Meadow courts # 10-12 from 7:30/8:00AM-10:00AM
and play pick-up games. “Men’s Day” is Tuesday, “Ladies’
Day” is Wednesday and “Mixed Doubles” play on Thursdays. Courts

Tennis Classes & Workshops
BBR group tennis lessons are offered at Glaze Meadow Courts
#13 & 14.
Each lesson is limited to 8 participants, with a minimum
of 2 people required.
Adult Stroke of the Day
Learn and solidify tennis stroke fundamentals and strategies
in a lively and challenging format. Each day will introduce a different aspect
of the game. M-F, 8:00AM-9:15AM $20
Advanced Adult Drills & Play
A lively session focusing on skill enhancing drills, point
simulations, and game scenarios.T/Th 9:15AM-10:30AM $20 Level 3.5 +
Youth Class 1
A class for young juniors, ages 6-8, who are just beginning
or who have had some experience but need to develop their skills and learn
to play games. M/W 3:00PM-4:00PM $12 (6-8 years)
Youth Class 2
For 9-12 year olds, this class features fundamental skill
development in a challenging yet recreational atmosphere. T/Th 3:00PM-4:00PM
$12 (9-12 years)
Private Lessons
• Private: $30.00 per ½ hour or $50.00/hour
• Semi-private: + $5.00/ person per ½ hour to
private rate.
Weekend Workshops
Tennis Weekend Workshops will transform your game! June 17-19,
2005, August 19-21, 2005, Sept. 9-11, 2005. $190.00 each.
