The Bio-Hotel Stanglwirt perches in the Tirolean Alps, roughly
an hour from either Salzburg or Innsbruck and just 15 minutes from
the fabled ski slopes of Kitzbühel.During the summer it is noted for
its hiking trails and horseback riding on the famed Lippizzaner horses; in
winter for its downhill and cross-country skiing. It is also the site of
one of the foremost tennis camps in Europe, one run by Peter Burwash International
(PBI) on the hotel's 8 red clay outdoor and 6 granulat (a form of artificial
clay) indoor courts. Petr Klimek, an eight-year veteran of Peter Burwash
International, took over direction of the program in mid 2003 and is joined
by up to 6 other fully accredited PBI professionals throughout the busy summer
months. The tennis camp program runs 2+ hours a day, reaching its zenith
in summer though continuing in some form year-round. To directly reach someone

Beautifully designed, the Stanglwirt combines an eco-friendly
ethos with the highest standards of comfort and welcome. The entire hotel,
all suites, rooms, furniture – and even the lifts – is built from
Austrian wood and the six restaurants serve produce that has been grown on
the hotel’s local farm.

Faculty Directed by Peter Burwash International. Summer (Winter)
6-7 (3) professionals; all have completed a 450-hr training program covering
tennis management through PBI. Additional continuing education is conducted
for one week/year.
Schedule 2 hours of group instruction in the mornings with
optional private lessons, singles & doubles tournaments, free play in
the afternoon. Both a technic camp & a tactic camp are offered.
Other Activities Other activities available at or near the
hotel depending on the season are: horseback riding, golf, swimming, hiking,
mountain biking, skiing, spa facilities.
Facilities 6 indoor courts, 8 outdoor red clay courts. Ball
machine with automatic ball retrieval system, pro shop.
Costs 285-330€, includes 5 days of instruction, extra
tennis activities, unlimited free play. Hotel lodging: 95-127€/person/day
including half board.
